What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to My Salon Suite's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must use specific computer hardware and software. Currently, My Salon Suite requires a laptop or desktop computer that runs 64-bit Microsoft Windows 7 or later. Franchisees also need printers, other peripheral hardware/devices, and a Square Card reader for payment integration. Additionally, franchisees need equipment to maintain a physical, electronic, or other security system for the business location. These items are collectively referred to as the "Computer System."
My Salon Suite also requires franchisees to use its designated point-of-sale system (POS System) and a specific type of tangible media and/or database structure as part of the Computer System. However, if a franchisee already has computer hardware or software that meets My Salon Suite's current standards for the Computer System or POS System, they may use those items with the franchisor's approval.
The estimated cost to purchase the required Computer System ranges from $0 to $2,000. Franchisees should also budget approximately $500 annually for maintenance and support contracts, including any necessary upgrades. My Salon Suite retains the right to modify these technology requirements over time due to the continually changing nature of technology.
My Salon Suite also has the right to electronically access the franchisee's computer system to monitor or retrieve data. Franchisees must also participate in any Franchise System-wide computer network and use it to submit reports, view the Franchise Operations Manual, download advertising materials, and communicate with the franchisor and other franchisees.
