What level of compliance with the My Salon Suite system is required of the franchisee's business operations?

Franchisee understands and acknowledges the importance of Franchisor's high standards of quality, cleanliness, appearance and service and the necessity of operating the Franchised Business ("System Standards").
Franchisee must comply with this Franchise Agreement and the System Standards and other requirements that Franchisor or its Affiliate may periodically prescribe for operating a Franchised Business.
Franchisee has applied for a franchise to own and operate a single Franchised Business.
Franchisor hereby grants Franchisee the right to own and operate a Franchised Business or using its Proprietary Marks and System, in reliance upon all the representations made in Franchisee's application and in this Franchise Agreement.

Franchisee agrees to indemnify Franchisor if Franchisor is held responsible for these taxes.

Compliance with Applicable Laws**.
Franchisee must comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations regarding the operation of the Franchised Business (including, without limitation, all government regulations relating to commercial leasing and hair salon operations and the products and services provided by the Franchised Business, occupational hazards and health, trademark and copyright infringement, consumer protection, trade regulation, worker's compensation, unemployment insurance, withholding and payment of Federal and State income taxes and social security taxes and sales, use and property taxes, and the applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act regarding the construction, design and operation of the Franchised Business).
Franchisee must also obtain and maintain all permits, licenses, and registrations required for the lawful operation of the Franchised Business and comply with all health and safety codes.

Trade Secrets and Confidential Information**.
Franchisee must maintain the confidentiality of all Franchisor's proprietary and Confidential Information as set forth in this Franchise Agreement.

Image**.
Franchisee agrees to offer all Franchisor's authorized products and services and to conduct the Franchised Business in such a manner which will serve to emulate and enhance the image Franchisor intended for the System.
Franchisee further acknowledges and agrees that each aspect of the System is important not only to Franchisee, but also to Franchisor and to other System franchisees to maintain the highest operating standards, achieve system wide uniformity and increase the demand for the products sold and services rendered by System franchisees.
Franchisee agrees to comply with the standards, specifications and requirements Franchisor set forth to uniformly convey the distinctive image of a Franchised Business.
Franchisee shall, in the operation of the Franchised Business, use only displays, bags, labels, forms, stationery and other products

According to the 2025 My Salon Suite Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to the standards, specifications, and requirements set by My Salon Suite to maintain a consistent brand image and operating standards across all franchise locations. This includes following guidelines in the Manual and other written materials provided by the franchisor. These standards are in place to protect My Salon Suite's interests in the System and Marks. Franchisees must also get written approval from My Salon Suite before hiring a Designated Manager, and that manager must complete My Salon Suite University before assuming managerial responsibilities.
My Salon Suite franchisees are required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations related to the operation of the franchised business. This encompasses a wide range of legal areas, including commercial leasing, hair salon operations, occupational hazards, health, trademark and copyright infringement, consumer protection, trade regulation, worker's compensation, and adherence to the Americans with Disabilities Act. Franchisees must also secure and maintain all necessary permits, licenses, and registrations for lawful operation, and comply with all health and safety codes.
To maintain the integrity of the My Salon Suite brand, franchisees must use only approved displays, bags, labels, forms, stationery, and other products bearing the Proprietary Marks designated or approved by My Salon Suite. The distinguishing characteristics of the System include distinctive exterior and interior design, décor, color scheme, and furnishings; proprietary services and products; uniform operational procedures; quality and uniformity of products and services; and procedures for inventory, management, and financial control. My Salon Suite retains the right to modify and improve these elements over time.
Franchisees must also maintain the confidentiality of My Salon Suite's proprietary and confidential information. They are expected to operate the Franchised Business in a manner that emulates and enhances the image intended for the System. This includes offering all authorized products and services and complying with the standards, specifications, and requirements set forth by My Salon Suite to uniformly convey the distinctive image of a Franchised Business.
