Can My Salon Suite franchisees experience competition from other franchisees or company-owned outlets outside of their Protected Territory?

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You may experience competition from other franchisees or from outlets that we own with sites in the same general geographic area as your Protected Territory, but not within your Protected Territory. Salon professionals that reside or primarily operate within your Protected Territory may choose to lease salon space from another My Salon Suite location (company-owned or franchised) that is outside your Protected Territory, and these other salon professional businesses may provide our Approved Products and Services to such customers that solicit them without any further obligation to you.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to My Salon Suite's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may face competition from other franchisees or company-owned outlets located outside of their Protected Territory. While My Salon Suite grants an exclusive Protected Territory where they will not open or license another franchise, this exclusivity does not extend beyond those defined boundaries.

This means that a My Salon Suite franchisee could encounter competition from another My Salon Suite location (either franchised or company-owned) in the same general geographic area, provided that the competing location is outside of their Protected Territory. Furthermore, salon professionals operating within a franchisee's Protected Territory may choose to lease space from a My Salon Suite location outside of that territory, potentially drawing customers away.

My Salon Suite also reserves the right to market and sell similar products and services under different trademarks, or through alternative distribution channels like the internet or wholesale stores, both within and outside a franchisee's Protected Territory. This broad reservation of rights means that while franchisees have some territorial protection, My Salon Suite retains considerable freedom to operate and expand its brand through various means, potentially creating competition for its franchisees.
