What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to My Salon Suite's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the size of the Protected Territory will be confirmed when My Salon Suite approves the Approved Location. The boundaries of the Protected Territory will be described in the Franchise Agreement and will be based on the physical street address of the Franchised Business.
The typical Protected Territory will be a radius of 2 miles from the front door of the franchise, but this can vary based on location and demographics. The Protected Territory may overlap with another franchisee's territory. Prior to signing a lease on a specific site, My Salon Suite may elect to narrow and/or expand the boundaries of the Protected Territory, which may be described in terms of zip codes, streets, landmarks (both natural and man-made), and state or county lines which may result in a Protected Territory that is larger or smaller than the 2 mile radius.
In certain densely populated metropolitan areas or sparsely populated rural areas, a territory may be considerably smaller or larger, which My Salon Suite refers to as a Nonstandard Territory, and they reserve the right to modify the Non-Standard Territory. For a Conversion Franchise, the Protected Territory will be a defined area as determined by My Salon Suite, based on the sales of the existing business and the size of the market. The population may be less for a Conversion Franchise's Protected Territory than the population for a New Location. The franchisee's rights to operate within the Protected Territory are tied to a specific address, and if the location changes, the Territory may be redefined accordingly, subject to My Salon Suite's written approval and execution of an amendment to the Franchise Agreement.
