What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Gold Star reserves the right to revoke approval of any supplier or item if that supplier or item does not continue to meet the company's current criteria.
This means that even if a supplier or item is initially approved for use in your Gold Star franchise, that approval is not permanent. Gold Star can change its standards and reassess suppliers and items against those new standards. If a supplier or item no longer meets the updated criteria, Gold Star can revoke its approval, meaning franchisees would no longer be allowed to purchase from that supplier or use that item.
As a prospective franchisee, it's important to understand that Gold Star maintains control over its supply chain and product standards. While franchisees can request approval for alternative suppliers or products, Gold Star ultimately decides which suppliers and items are acceptable. This ensures consistency across all Gold Star locations but also limits the franchisee's autonomy in sourcing supplies.
