What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must provide prior written notice to Gold Star regarding the identity of any replacement manager. Additionally, the franchisee is required to ensure that the replacement manager promptly completes any necessary training as outlined in Section 2 of the franchise agreement.
This requirement ensures that Gold Star maintains control over who is managing its franchised locations. By requiring prior written notice, Gold Star can vet the replacement manager and ensure they meet the brand's standards. The mandatory training ensures that the new manager is properly equipped to operate the Gold Star location according to the established System Standards.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that you cannot simply replace a manager without informing Gold Star. Failing to comply with this requirement could be a breach of the franchise agreement. It is important to factor in the time and cost associated with training a new manager, as this is a condition for changing the manager's identity.
