What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Gold Star Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must obtain, display, and maintain a package of signs that meet Gold Star's requirements. These signs should be located at, on, or near the front of the retail location and describe the premises only as "Gold Star Chili." Additional signs may be required as specified in the manual or in writing by Gold Star.
Franchisees are responsible for the expense of obtaining and maintaining these signs. Any modifications to the standard signage must be approved by Gold Star, unless changes are required due to local legal restrictions.
Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from displaying any signs, whether inside or outside the retail location, that have not been approved by Gold Star in the manual or in writing. This ensures that all signage is consistent with Gold Star's brand standards and image.
