What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Gold Star has the option to participate in any punchlist or other inspection of a Retail Location. This means that during the construction, refurbishment, or alteration of the Retail Location, Gold Star can choose to be involved in the inspection process to ensure that the location meets their standards.
This participation is tied to the franchisee's choice of contractor. The contractor selected by the franchisee must be reasonably satisfactory to Gold Star. This requirement ensures that the construction or renovation work aligns with Gold Star's standards and specifications.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that Gold Star has a degree of oversight in the construction and renovation process. While the franchisee is responsible for selecting the contractor and managing the construction, Gold Star retains the right to ensure that the work meets their approved plans and specifications. This helps maintain uniformity and quality across all Gold Star locations, but it also means franchisees must be prepared to work with contractors acceptable to Gold Star and potentially address any concerns raised during inspections.
