What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Gold Star will review advertising materials submitted by franchisees. Specifically, Gold Star reviews all advertising and similar materials submitted by franchisees to ensure they comply with Gold Star's specifications. This is part of the assistance Gold Star provides during the operation of the franchise business.
This review process ensures that all advertising aligns with the brand's standards and marketing strategies. While franchisees can develop their own advertising materials at their own cost, they must obtain Gold Star's prior written approval. This requirement helps maintain brand consistency and quality across all franchise locations.
Gold Star also oversees all Brand Building Fund advertising, including local store marketing plans, either directly or through a designee. The Brand Building Fund is used for advertising and marketing activities to promote Gold Star's business, products, and services. Gold Star has designated GSCAA to administer the Brand Building Fund and has sole discretion to approve the creative concepts, materials, and media used in the fund's advertising efforts.
