What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for covering all expenses associated with training programs. Gold Star will not provide any compensation or reimbursement for services performed or expenses incurred by the franchisee, their employees, or representatives during any training program.
This means that prospective Gold Star franchisees must factor in the costs of travel, lodging, meals, and other related expenses for themselves and their team members when budgeting for the initial investment and ongoing operational costs. These expenses apply to any training program, including initial training, refresher courses, or additional training programs that Gold Star may require or offer.
This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as franchisees are generally considered independent business owners responsible for their own operational costs, including training. Franchisees should carefully consider these expenses and ensure they have sufficient capital to cover these costs, as neglecting training can negatively impact the success of their Gold Star franchise.
