What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee entering into an agreement as a renewal of a previous franchise agreement with Gold Star will pay a renewal fee of $5,000. This fee is paid upon the execution of the agreement.

It is important to note that this fee is fully earned by Gold Star upon execution and delivery of the agreement and is nonrefundable. This means that once the agreement is signed and the fee is paid, the franchisee cannot get the money back, even if they later decide not to proceed with the renewal.

In addition to the renewal fee, the franchisee must also meet other requirements to renew their franchise agreement. These requirements include satisfying all accrued monetary obligations, complying with Gold Star's standards, and executing the then-current form of franchise agreement. The terms of the new franchise agreement may differ materially from the original agreement, potentially including higher fees, different terms, and different renewal rights.
