What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Gold Star does reserve the right to reinspect facilities and items from approved suppliers periodically. This means that even after a supplier is initially approved, Gold Star can, at any time, check to ensure that the supplier's facilities and products continue to meet Gold Star's standards.
This right helps Gold Star maintain consistent quality and protect its brand standards across all franchise locations. It ensures that approved suppliers continue to adhere to the required specifications and quality controls. For a franchisee, this means that suppliers they rely on could be subject to ongoing scrutiny, and Gold Star could revoke approval if a supplier fails to meet the brand's criteria.
If a franchisee desires to use a supplier not already on Gold Star's approved list, the franchisee must submit a written request for approval. Gold Star has the right to inspect the potential supplier's facilities and request samples for testing and evaluation. The franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with these inspections and evaluations. Gold Star will then notify the franchisee in writing, within 60 days of receiving the request and samples, whether the approval is granted. This process ensures that all suppliers meet Gold Star's standards before being approved for use by franchisees.
