What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees will not receive compensation or reimbursement for any expenses incurred during training programs. This includes expenses for themselves, their employees, or any other representatives. Franchisees are responsible for covering all costs related to travel, lodging, meals, and any other incidental expenses associated with attending any training programs offered by Gold Star.
This policy means that prospective Gold Star franchisees need to factor in the costs of training when budgeting for their new business. These costs can include transportation to the training location, accommodation, food, and any other personal expenses incurred during the training period. It is important for franchisees to plan accordingly and ensure they have sufficient funds to cover these expenses.
This is a fairly standard practice in the franchise industry, where franchisees typically bear the costs of training-related expenses. While Gold Star does not cover these costs, they also do not charge a fee for the initial training of the franchisee or two managers. Understanding this financial responsibility upfront is crucial for franchisees to make informed decisions and manage their investment effectively.
