What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Gold Star will provide a list of approved sources to franchisees at no cost. This list includes sources for architectural services, supplies, equipment, furniture, advertising and marketing materials, computer software and hardware, and other items necessary for the operation of the store.

This means that as a Gold Star franchisee, you are not entirely free to choose your own suppliers. Instead, you must select from a list of vendors pre-approved by Gold Star. This is a common practice in franchising, allowing the franchisor to maintain quality control and brand consistency across all locations.

While this limits your autonomy, it also offers the benefit of potentially leveraging the franchisor's established relationships and negotiated pricing with these vendors. It is important to note that while Gold Star provides this list, franchisees are responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding the construction, design, and operation of their store.
