What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the payment terms for opening inventory are uniform for all franchisees. However, the actual amount due before the restaurant opens can vary between approximately $8,000 and $12,000, depending on the quantity of items purchased.

Gold Star franchisees are required to purchase all chili products and other proprietary food items from Gold Star or their designated suppliers. They must also purchase certain approved non-food products, such as restaurant menus, menu board pictures, window logos, and certain food products and supplies from Gold Star or their designees.

This means that while the price per item is the same for all franchisees, a new Gold Star franchisee's initial investment in inventory will depend on their specific needs and the quantity of each item they choose to purchase to start their business. Franchisees should carefully consider their anticipated sales volume and storage capacity when determining the appropriate quantities to order.
