What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Gold Star Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee will complete the store refurbishing within the time period specified by Gold Star, as outlined in Section 3.3 of the agreement. However, if the refurbishment costs exceed $30,000, the franchisee will be given at least six months after receiving notice of the required changes to complete the refurbishment.

It is important to note that Gold Star will not require a full store refurbishment during specific periods. For newly-constructed stores, this includes the first five years after opening and the year before the initial agreement term expires. For stores that are not newly constructed, this includes the first year after opening and the year before the initial agreement term expires.

Prospective franchisees should be aware that the costs associated with refurbishment can vary and are the franchisee's responsibility. Franchisees should clarify with Gold Star what factors determine the refurbishment timeline and typical costs to adequately prepare for these potential expenses.
