What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to the operating hours and days specified by Gold Star. The FDD states that franchisees must keep the restaurant open and operating normally during these specified times. This requirement ensures consistency across all Gold Star locations and maintains brand standards.
This provision gives Gold Star the authority to set the minimum operating hours for each franchise. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, allowing the franchisor to ensure adequate service levels and maximize potential revenue during peak times. It also allows Gold Star to adapt operating hours based on market conditions, local competition, or seasonal changes.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the specific required operating hours and days for their location during the due diligence process. Understanding these requirements is crucial for assessing the potential profitability of the franchise and ensuring that the franchisee can meet the operational demands of the business. The franchisee must also get prior written approval from Gold Star if they want to use the restaurant for any other purpose or activity at any time.
