What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial crew of the restaurant must attend and successfully complete the company's training program at the retail location before the store can open. The specific duration of this on-site training program is determined by Gold Star at its discretion. There is no fee charged to the franchisee for this initial crew training program.
This requirement ensures that all staff members are properly trained and prepared to meet Gold Star's standards of operation before serving customers. This protects the brand's reputation and ensures a consistent customer experience across all franchise locations.
As a prospective franchisee, it is important to confirm the length of the initial on-site training program with Gold Star to properly schedule the store opening. Additionally, franchisees should budget for any travel, lodging, meals, and incidental expenses incurred by their employees during the training period, as these costs are the franchisee's responsibility.
