What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase uniforms. Specifically, franchisees must purchase and use uniforms required by Gold Star. These uniforms must be approved by Gold Star in the Manual or otherwise in writing.

This requirement ensures that all Gold Star locations maintain a consistent brand image and meet the company's standards. Franchisees must also obtain Gold Star's prior written approval for any alterations or replacements of these uniforms. This condition is in place to ensure that all items meet the System Standards.

This means a prospective Gold Star franchisee needs to factor in the initial and ongoing costs of purchasing approved uniforms for their employees. They also need to adhere to Gold Star's specific guidelines regarding the appearance and quality of these uniforms, as non-compliance could lead to a breach of the franchise agreement.
