What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Gold Star Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must adhere to the standards, operating procedures, and rules that Gold Star prescribes for store development and operation. These standards encompass various aspects, including ingredients, food preparation methods, service protocols, and the specifications of menu items. The franchisee is obligated to operate their business in a way that preserves the goodwill of all Gold Star restaurants and the company itself.

Compliance with these System Standards is a fundamental requirement of the franchise agreement. Franchisees must not deviate from these standards, which may be modified and supplemented by Gold Star at its discretion. These standards, whether outlined in the manual or communicated in writing, are considered provisions of the franchise agreement.

This obligation ensures uniformity across all Gold Star Chili franchises, maintaining consistent quality, service, and customer satisfaction. It also protects the brand's reputation and goodwill. For a prospective franchisee, this means understanding and strictly adhering to Gold Star's operational guidelines, as failure to comply could lead to a breach of the franchise agreement.
