What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase subscriptions to applications or web services as directed in the Gold Star manual. Franchisees must download Gold Star's preferred licensed application system, which is used for communication between the company and its franchisees.

As a Gold Star franchisee, you will be responsible for all subscription and other fees associated with using the preferred application system. You will also need to cover the costs of purchasing and maintaining the hardware required to download and use the application. Specifically, franchisees are required to purchase and maintain a functioning I-Pad at their retail location.

This requirement ensures that all franchisees are using the same communication platform, allowing for consistent and efficient communication across the Gold Star franchise system. While the FDD specifies the requirement to subscribe to web services and use a specific application, it does not list the specific vendors or web services that franchisees will be required to use. A prospective franchisee should ask Gold Star for a list of these required subscriptions and their associated costs.
