What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase and install furniture that meets the company's standards. Specifically, the franchisee must purchase, install, and use furniture required by Gold Star at their own expense. They can only purchase, install, or use furniture approved by Gold Star in the manual or in writing.

Furthermore, franchisees must obtain prior written approval from Gold Star for any alterations or replacements of furniture to ensure they meet the System Standards. These standards ensure uniformity across all Gold Star locations. The suppliers of furniture must also meet the conditions applicable to approval as outlined in the FDD.

This requirement ensures that all Gold Star restaurants maintain a consistent appearance and quality, which is crucial for brand recognition and customer experience. While this provides a standardized environment, franchisees have limited autonomy in selecting furniture and must adhere to Gold Star's guidelines and obtain approval for any changes.
