What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to obtain and maintain a standard email account. Specifically, prior to opening their Gold Star business and throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement, franchisees must have an email account capable of sending and receiving attachments of a size specified by Gold Star in their manual or in writing.

In addition to the email account, franchisees must also have a high-speed cable or DSL internet connection through a commercial internet service provider that services the store. This ensures that franchisees can reliably communicate with Gold Star and receive important updates or documents.

This requirement is fairly standard in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to efficiently communicate with all franchisees and disseminate important information quickly. Franchisees should ensure they understand the specifications for attachment sizes and internet connection speeds to avoid any issues with compliance.
