What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to display the Marks, which are the brand's trademarks and logos, in a manner prescribed by Gold Star on all signs and other advertising and promotional materials used for the store. This means that franchisees must adhere to Gold Star's guidelines regarding the use of its trademarks in advertising.
Before using any advertising, displays, or other materials with the Marks that the franchisee prepares, Gold Star's written approval is required. However, this approval is not needed for prices to be charged. If Gold Star does not provide a written objection within 15 days of the request, the company is considered to have given the required approval.
This requirement ensures brand consistency across all Gold Star locations and helps to maintain the integrity of the brand's image. It also allows Gold Star to control how its trademarks are used and to prevent any misuse or misrepresentation of the brand. Franchisees need to be proactive in submitting their advertising materials for approval to avoid delays or potential violations of the franchise agreement.
