What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must obtain and maintain a standard e-mail account and a high-speed internet connection prior to opening their business. This e-mail account must be capable of sending and receiving attached files of a size specified by Gold Star in their manual or in writing. The internet connection must be a high-speed cable or telephone (DSL) connection via a commercial internet service provider with service to the store.

This requirement ensures that franchisees can effectively communicate with Gold Star and receive important documents and updates. It also allows them to participate in any online systems or platforms that Gold Star may use for training, marketing, or other purposes. Maintaining this email and internet access is an ongoing requirement throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement.

For a prospective Gold Star franchisee, this means budgeting for the costs of setting up and maintaining a suitable email account and internet connection. They should also ensure that their chosen internet service provider can provide reliable high-speed service to their location. It is important to check the Gold Star manual or any written communications from Gold Star for specific requirements regarding file size capabilities for the email account.
