What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Gold Star's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Gold Star has the discretion to introduce new or substitute marks, names, logos, or indicia for franchisees to use. If Gold Star decides to modify or discontinue any of the existing marks, or to introduce new ones, franchisees are obligated to comply.

This means that Gold Star franchisees must be prepared to adapt their branding and marketing materials to reflect any changes or additions to the brand's marks. The franchisee is responsible for the expenses associated with these changes, which could include updating signage, menus, and promotional materials.

This provision allows Gold Star to maintain a consistent brand image and adapt to changing market conditions. For a franchisee, it's important to factor in the potential costs and operational adjustments that may arise from these branding updates. Franchisees should maintain open communication with Gold Star to understand the reasons behind any changes and to implement them effectively.
