What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Floyds 99's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Principal Manager is designated to assume primary responsibility for the overall management of a Floyds 99 shop, especially if the barbershop is not the first one developed by the franchisee or an affiliate. The Principal Manager must attend and successfully complete the initial training program. This training is a prerequisite for performing the duties of the Principal Manager. If a new Principal Manager is hired during the franchise agreement, they too must complete the initial training program.

The initial training program for the Principal Manager is comprehensive, covering the franchisor's licensed methods, trademark protection, and brand consistency across all Floyds 99 locations. The program includes approximately 40 hours of classroom training and 7 to 10 days of in-shop training at a location designated by Floyds 99. Floyds 99 retains the right to modify the training program or provide it remotely via live video conferencing, depending on the manager's prior experience.

Proper management of the Floyds 99 shop is crucial, and Floyds 99 requires that either one of the principal owners of the franchisee entity or the designated Principal Manager, having completed the initial training, be responsible for the shop's management at all times. If Floyds 99 determines that a shop is not being managed properly or is not being operated by someone who completed the mandatory initial training, they can appoint an interim Principal Manager to ensure the shop's continued operation and protect the Floyds 99 system's value. This highlights the importance of the Principal Manager's role in maintaining the standards and operational integrity of the Floyds 99 brand.
