What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Floyds 99's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee must ensure that either one of the principal owners of the franchisee entity or a designated Principal Manager is responsible for the shop's management at all times. This Principal Manager must have completed the franchisor's initial training program. If this is the first franchise agreement between the franchisee and Floyds 99, the franchisee's principal owner must be actively involved in the day-to-day management of the shop.

This requirement ensures that someone with a vested interest and proper training is always overseeing the operations of the Floyds 99 shop. The initial training program for the Principal Manager is comprehensive, consisting of approximately 40 hours of classroom training and 7 to 10 days of in-shop training. This training covers the franchisor's Licensed Methods, trademark protection, and brand consistency.

Floyds 99 also retains certain management rights. If the franchisor determines that the shop is not being managed properly or is not being operated by someone who has completed the mandatory initial training, Floyds 99 can appoint an interim Principal Manager to operate and manage the shop. This can also occur if a default occurs or if the franchisee is absent or incapacitated. The franchisee is responsible for the expenses of the shop, including compensation for the franchisor's representatives, during this period, and Floyds 99 has the right to charge a reasonable management fee in addition to royalties and other fees.
