What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Floyds 99 Franchise Disclosure Document, a tenant has the right to use the premises for operating a retail hair care business. This includes providing hair care services and selling related hair care products, as well as other ancillary purposes associated with these activities.
This use clause ensures that the franchisee can operate their Floyds 99 barbershop without restrictions that might hinder their business. It allows for the provision of standard barber services and the sale of related products, which are essential to the Floyds 99 business model. The inclusion of "other ancillary purposes" provides some flexibility for franchisees to adapt their offerings to local market demands, as long as they remain related to the core hair care business.
Additionally, Floyds 99 provides some flexibility regarding signage. The tenant can display "Coming Soon," "Now Hiring," or "Grand Opening" banners near the premises from the lease execution date until eight weeks after opening. They can also erect exterior signage and awnings as described in Exhibit B of the lease. Subject to regulatory approvals, tenants can place signage indicating hours of operation, display their logo, use sandwich board signs during business hours, and project an "After Hours" feature on the windows after business hours if commercially reasonable and permitted.
