What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Extreme Art Studio Franchise Disclosure Document, Item 11 outlines the franchisor's assistance, including construction project management. Specifically, Extreme Art Studio will provide franchisees with a schematic design review, and franchisees must submit final construction plans and specifications for approval before starting construction. The franchisee is obligated to construct the Extreme Art Studio Business in accordance with the approved plans and specifications.
Extreme Art Studio also provides specifications for initial and replacement furniture, fixtures, equipment, signs, inventory, and supplies that conform to the standards described in the Franchise Operations Manual. However, Extreme Art Studio does not assist with the installation of these items. The Franchise Operations Manual includes approximately 246 pages, and its table of contents is attached as Exhibit C to the Franchise Disclosure Document.
While Extreme Art Studio consults on the site, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for choosing, obtaining, and developing the site, conforming to local ordinances and building codes, obtaining permits, and constructing, remodeling, and decorating the premises. The franchisee must begin offering services within 12 months of signing the Franchise Agreement, with potential penalties, including termination or an "Opening Extension Fee" of $1,000 per month, for delays.
