Are renewal franchisees entitled to the same pre-opening services from Extreme Art Studio?

According to Extreme Art Studio's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, renewal franchisees do not receive the same pre-opening services as new franchisees. Extreme Art Studio outlines specific pre-opening assistance and services they provide to new franchisees, including site selection assistance, lease review, construction project management, and schematic design review. They also provide specifications for initial and replacement furniture, fixtures, equipment, signs, inventory, and supplies.

Specifically, Extreme Art Studio offers advise on pre-opening procedures, assistance with inventory ordering, implementation services for software, a copy of the Franchise Operations Manual, a list of approved items, services, and suppliers, an initial training program for the franchisee and designated manager, on-site training prior to the grand opening, templates for promotional materials, and other pre-opening consultation.

However, the FDD clearly states that Extreme Art Studio does not provide these services to renewal franchisees. This means that franchisees who are renewing their franchise agreement will not receive the same level of support and assistance with site selection, training, and other pre-opening activities that are provided to new franchisees. This could present challenges for renewal franchisees who are relocating or expanding their business, as they will need to handle these tasks independently.
