What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Extreme Art Studio Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain records related to their grand opening marketing program and local advertising expenditures. Specifically, Extreme Art Studio may request an accounting of these expenditures, submitted in a manner they prescribe.
For the grand opening marketing program, franchisees must provide an accounting of how they spent their funds if Extreme Art Studio requests it. Similarly, for local advertising, franchisees are obligated to spend at least $500 each calendar month on advertising and promoting their Extreme Art Studio franchise. If a franchisee fails to meet this minimum spending requirement, they must pay the difference to Extreme Art Studio, which will then contribute it to the Brand Fund, if one has been established.
These record-keeping requirements ensure that Extreme Art Studio franchisees are actively promoting their businesses and adhering to the brand's marketing standards. The obligation to provide an accounting of these expenditures allows Extreme Art Studio to monitor compliance and ensure that marketing funds are being used effectively. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as franchisors typically want to ensure brand consistency and adequate local marketing efforts.
Prospective Extreme Art Studio franchisees should be aware of these requirements and prepared to maintain accurate records of their marketing expenditures. They should also clarify with Extreme Art Studio the specific manner in which these accountings must be submitted to ensure compliance with the franchise agreement.
