Is the Initial Franchise Fee for Extreme Art Studio refundable?

According to the 2024 Extreme Art Studio Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is generally not refundable. However, veterans of the United States armed services receive a 10% discount on the initial franchise fee. The FDD specifies that the initial franchise fee is considered earned by Extreme Art Studio upon payment and is non-refundable, with the exception of the veteran discount.

The initial franchise fee varies depending on the type of franchise purchased. For a single Extreme Art Studio Business, the initial fee is $45,000. A Standard 2 Franchise, which covers two businesses, requires an initial fee of $80,000, while a Standard 3 Franchise, covering three businesses, has an initial fee of $110,000. These fees are payable when the Franchise Agreement is signed.

In addition to the initial franchise fee, Extreme Art Studio franchisees may opt to purchase curriculum modules such as Craft Academy ($15,000), Kidscientific ($20,000), and Little Hands Discovery ($10,000). The fees for these modules are also non-refundable. Franchisees also pay a monthly technology fee of $400, which is also non-refundable. An opening extension fee of $1,000 per month may be charged if the Extreme Art Business does not open within 15 months of the Franchise Agreement's effective date, and this fee is also non-refundable.
