Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If you propose to substitute any Approved Suppliers or any Materials, Products or Services, you must notify us in writing and submit sufficient information, samples, and specifications to allow us to determine if the supplier and/or supplies meet our approved criteria.

It is in our sole discretion whether to test additional supplies and/or suppliers you propose.

If we agree to evaluate a proposed substitute, then we will provide you with written notification of the approval or disapproval within sixty (60) days from the date we receive notice and all information and samples.

All criteria used by us or our designee in making our determination and any further procedures for obtaining approval of a new supplier or supplies are set forth in the Operations Manual.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Eos Worldwide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee proposes a substitute supplier and Eos Worldwide agrees to evaluate the proposed substitute, Eos Worldwide will provide written notification of the approval or disapproval within sixty (60) days. This timeframe begins from the date Eos Worldwide receives the notice, along with all necessary information and samples from the franchisee.

This means that a franchisee needs to compile all required documentation and samples for the proposed substitute supplier and submit them to Eos Worldwide. Only once Eos Worldwide acknowledges receipt of this complete package does the 60-day evaluation period begin. The franchisee should factor in preparation time for the proposal, as well as potential delays in Eos Worldwide's acknowledgement of receipt.

It is important to note that Eos Worldwide retains sole discretion over whether to even evaluate a proposed substitute supplier in the first place. This implies that Eos Worldwide is not obligated to consider every request, and a franchisee should be prepared for the possibility that their proposal might not be reviewed. The Operations Manual contains all criteria used by Eos Worldwide in making its determination and any further procedures for obtaining approval of a new supplier or supplies.

For a prospective franchisee, this highlights the importance of understanding Eos Worldwide's approved supplier system and the process for suggesting alternatives. It would be prudent to discuss the criteria for supplier approval with Eos Worldwide during the due diligence phase to better understand the likelihood of successfully introducing a new supplier.
