What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Dryject Franchise Disclosure Document, the Renewal Fee is equal to twenty percent (20%) of the Initial Franchise Fee then being paid by new franchisees. As of the Effective Date, the Initial Franchise Fee is $29,500.00. Therefore, if the Initial Franchise Fee remains the same at the time of renewal, the Renewal Fee would be $5,900.00. However, the Renewal Fee could be higher or lower depending on what the Initial Franchise Fee is at the time of renewal.
To renew the Dryject franchise, a franchisee must meet several conditions. These include satisfying all monetary obligations to Dryject, executing the then-current standard franchise agreement, and providing a general release of claims against Dryject. The franchisee must also complete any required retraining, upgrade equipment to current standards, and pay the renewal fee.
The new franchise agreement executed at the time of renewal may contain terms and conditions substantially different from the original agreement. These differences could include a different royalty fee, different advertising expenditure requirements, and a smaller Designated Territory. This means that franchisees need to carefully review the renewal agreement to understand any changes to their obligations and rights.
It is important to note that if a Dryject franchisee continues to operate after the end of the term without renewing, they will be considered to be operating on a month-to-month basis under the terms of the then-current franchise agreement. In this situation, Dryject retains the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement with only ten days' written notice.
