What is the legal meaning of 'you' or 'Franchise Owner' in the context of a Dryject franchise?
Dryject Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
To simplify the language in this Disclosure Document, the terms, "we", "us", or "our", means DryJect Management, LLC, the franchisor, (but not our members, managers, officers, directors, agents or employees). "You" or "Franchise Owner" means the person or entity that buys a franchise from us. If you are a corporation, partnership, limited liability company or other entity, our Franchise Agreement also will apply to your owners, officers, directors, partners, managers and members. Unless otherwise indicated, the term "Franchised Location" or "Franchised Business" means a franchised DryJect® business.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dryject's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the terms 'you' or 'Franchise Owner' refer to the individual or business entity that purchases the franchise. This definition is crucial for understanding the legal obligations and rights within the Franchise Agreement.
For individual franchisees, 'you' directly signifies the person entering into the agreement with Dryject. However, many franchisees operate under a corporate structure such as a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company. In such cases, the Franchise Agreement extends its reach to include the owners, officers, directors, partners, managers, and members of that entity. This ensures that all individuals involved in the operation of the Dryject franchise are bound by the terms of the agreement.
This comprehensive definition is a standard practice in franchising, designed to prevent individuals from circumventing the agreement by operating through a business entity. It clarifies that the responsibilities and obligations outlined in the Franchise Agreement apply not only to the business itself but also to the people who control and manage it. Therefore, prospective Dryject franchisees should carefully consider the implications of this definition, especially if they plan to operate under a business entity, as their personal actions could have legal consequences for the franchise.
