If Dryject negotiates purchase agreements for certain equipment or supplies, are franchisees required to purchase from those designated suppliers?
Dryject Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
We do not currently, but reserve the right to negotiate purchase agreements for certain equipment or supplies. You may purchase such equipment or supplies from these designated suppliers or from any approved supplier on the terms as you negotiate. The Manual contains details relating to these purchases. At the time you open the Franchised Business you must stock the initial inventory of products, equipment, services and supplies required by us as outlined in the Manual or otherwise in writing. After the opening of your Franchised Business, you must stock and maintain all types of approved products and equipment in quantities sufficient to meet reasonably anticipated customer demands.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dryject's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dryject reserves the right to negotiate purchase agreements for certain equipment or supplies. However, franchisees are not obligated to purchase equipment or supplies from these designated suppliers, and may instead purchase from any approved supplier, based on the terms they negotiate.
Dryject does require franchisees to stock an initial inventory of products, equipment, services, and supplies as outlined in the manual or in writing when opening their franchise. After opening, franchisees must maintain sufficient quantities of all approved products and equipment to meet customer demands.
Dryject also maintains written lists of approved equipment, fixtures, inventory, and supplies, identified by brand name or specifications, along with lists of approved suppliers. These lists are updated periodically and provided to all franchise owners. Franchisees can request Dryject's standards, specifications, and supplier approval criteria, but this information is provided confidentially. The manual lists all approved suppliers and vendors, and franchisees must adhere to it, including any modifications made by Dryject.
If a franchisee wishes to purchase items from an unapproved supplier, they or the supplier must submit a written request for approval to Dryject. Dryject will then evaluate the vendor, which may include reviewing product specifications, inspecting facilities, testing products, and assessing the supplier's reputation and reliability. Dryject must respond to the request in writing within 30 days, and approval will not be unreasonably withheld but must be obtained in writing. Dryject reserves the right to inspect the supplier's facilities and request samples for testing, with the franchisee potentially bearing the costs of inspection and testing. Dryject may also re-inspect previously approved suppliers and revoke approval if they no longer meet Dryject's standards.
