What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Dryject Franchise Disclosure Document, there is a reference to questionnaires and acknowledgments within the addendum for the state of Maryland. Specifically, it states that no statement, questionnaire, or acknowledgment signed by a franchisee in connection with starting the franchise can waive claims under state franchise law, including fraud, or disclaim reliance on statements made by Dryject or its representatives. This provision overrides any other conflicting terms in any document related to the franchise agreement.
This means that while Dryject may use questionnaires or acknowledgments during the franchise commencement process, these documents cannot be used to limit a franchisee's rights under applicable state franchise laws. This is particularly relevant in states like Maryland that have franchise-specific laws in place to protect franchisees.
Prospective Dryject franchisees should carefully review any questionnaires or acknowledgments presented to them, understanding that these documents cannot force them to waive their legal rights or disclaim reliance on information provided by Dryject. Franchisees should consult with a legal professional to fully understand their rights and obligations under the franchise agreement and applicable state laws.
