What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Dryject Franchise Disclosure Document, Dryject retains sole ownership of the goodwill associated with its licensed rights. Specifically, the agreement states that any and all goodwill connected to or identified by the licensed rights is exclusively for Dryject's benefit and is considered its property.

This means that while franchisees are granted the right to use Dryject's licensed rights to operate their franchised business, they do not acquire any ownership stake in the brand's reputation or goodwill. The goodwill associated with the Dryject name and system inures directly and exclusively to the benefit of Dryject.

This is a common arrangement in franchising, where the franchisor invests significant resources in building brand recognition and reputation. By retaining ownership of the goodwill, Dryject ensures that it can maintain control over its brand and protect its value. This also allows Dryject to ensure consistent brand standards and quality across all franchise locations, which further contributes to the overall goodwill of the brand.

The Dryject franchise agreement also specifies that franchisees cannot take any actions that could harm the brand's public image or diminish its associated goodwill. This provision reinforces Dryject's control over its brand and ensures that franchisees contribute positively to the brand's reputation.
