What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dollar Rent A Car's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are permitted to advertise their franchised business within their designated territory. However, all advertising efforts, regardless of the medium used, must be conducted in a dignified manner and adhere to the standards and requirements specified by Dollar Rent A Car in the Operations Guide or other written communication.

To ensure compliance, franchisees are required to submit samples of all advertising and promotional plans and materials, including website content and press releases, to Dollar Rent A Car for prior approval. This includes the prices to be charged, to the extent allowed by applicable law. This approval process is detailed in the Operations Guide. If the franchisee does not receive written disapproval within thirty (30) days of Dollar Rent A Car's receipt of the submitted materials, the company's approval is assumed.

Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from advertising their Dollar Rent A Car business outside of their designated territory without obtaining prior written consent from the company. This ensures that advertising efforts are coordinated and do not infringe upon the territories of other franchisees or the company's own marketing strategies.

In summary, a Dollar Rent A Car franchisee has the right to advertise their business within their territory, but they must ensure that all advertising is dignified, complies with Dollar Rent A Car's standards, and is pre-approved by the company. They are also restricted from advertising outside their territory without written consent.
