What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Dollar Rent A Car Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase and install signs as designated by Dollar Rent A Car. These signs must meet the franchisor's standards and specifications. Dollar Rent A Car requires franchisees to refurbish and upgrade their locations to maintain appearance and conform to current standards, including accommodating new car requirements.
Dollar Rent A Car franchisees are obligated to display the current trademarks on all signage, forms, uniforms, stationery, and any other items designated by the franchisor. If Dollar Rent A Car changes its trademarks or trade dress, franchisees are given a reasonable period to make the necessary modifications.
In cases where a franchisee operates multiple brands (Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty), all facilities servicing customers must be branded separately according to the franchise agreement. Franchisees must comply with the Operations Guides for displaying the Hertz Marks, the Dollar Marks, or the Thrifty Marks. Separate rental counters, telephone numbers, buses, and employee uniforms/nametags must be maintained for each brand to ensure they are distinctly identified to the public.
