What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Dollar Rent A Car Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to display the current Marks, which are the brand's trademarks and logos, at their own expense. This includes displaying the Marks on all signage, forms, uniforms, stationery, and any other items that Dollar Rent A Car designates for such display.
This requirement ensures consistent branding and presentation across all Dollar Rent A Car franchise locations. By mandating the display of current Marks, Dollar Rent A Car aims to maintain a uniform image and customer experience. This is a common practice in franchising, as brand recognition and consistency are crucial for attracting and retaining customers.
If Dollar Rent A Car changes its Marks or trade dress, franchisees will be given a reasonable period to make the necessary modifications. The specific timeframe for these modifications will be outlined in the Operations Guide, Identification Standards Manual, or in writing from Dollar Rent A Car. This ensures that franchisees have adequate time to update their displays and materials to reflect the new branding.
For a prospective Dollar Rent A Car franchisee, this means allocating funds for the initial display of the Marks and budgeting for potential updates or changes to the branding elements throughout the term of the franchise agreement. It is important to review the Operations Guide and Identification Standards Manual to understand the specific requirements and standards for displaying the Marks to remain compliant with the franchise agreement.
