What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dollar Rent A Car franchisees must comply with the terms and conditions set forth in the Franchise Agreements and the Operations Guides. This obligation to comply with the Franchise Agreements means a franchisee is required to adhere to the standards and requirements established by Dollar Rent A Car.
Dollar Rent A Car, along with Hertz and Thrifty, retains the right to unilaterally modify or change the Operations Guides and any operating requirements related to the multiple-brand franchise. These changes can occur at any time during the franchise term to adapt operating procedures, maintain brand goodwill, meet customer demands, or respond to competition.
Furthermore, Dollar Rent A Car, Thrifty, and Hertz have the discretion to limit a franchisee's access to proprietary and confidential information of other franchisees. This includes potentially restricting attendance at franchisee meetings. Therefore, a Dollar Rent A Car franchisee's business operations are significantly influenced and directed by the franchisor, with ongoing obligations to comply with their standards and potential modifications to those standards.
