What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dollar Rent A Car's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Operations Guide, which contains the policies and procedures for operating a Dollar Rent A Car franchise, can be provided in any format the company chooses. This includes paper or electronic formats. Dollar Rent A Car also has the right to supplement the Operations Guide with operating bulletins and memoranda, which are considered incorporated into the guide, regardless of whether they are physically added to the document.

This flexibility in delivery format allows Dollar Rent A Car to update and distribute information efficiently. Franchisees must stay informed of any updates or supplements to the Operations Guide, as these become part of the franchise agreement. The Operations Guide specifically includes items such as the brand partner code of conduct, the Identification Standards Manual, one-way / intercity rental policies, and frequent renter loyalty and reward policies, in each case as amended or updated from time to time.

Dollar Rent A Car may also require franchisees to exchange their copy of the Operations Guide if the company updates the form or substance of the guide. This ensures that all franchisees are using the most current information. Franchisees should be prepared to adapt to changes in operating procedures and standards as communicated through the Operations Guide and its supplements.

It is common practice in the franchise industry for franchisors to update their operations manuals periodically to reflect changes in the market, technology, or legal requirements. The ability to deliver the Operations Guide in various formats allows Dollar Rent A Car to maintain consistency and efficiency across its franchise network.
