What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dollar Rent A Car's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any face-to-face meeting to resolve disputes must be held at Dollar Rent A Car's then-current headquarters. This meeting must occur within thirty days of written notice from either the franchisee or Dollar Rent A Car, unless both parties agree to a different arrangement.

Furthermore, the FDD specifies that arbitration proceedings will take place in a suitable location selected by the arbitrator, also in the city where Dollar Rent A Car's headquarters is located. All arbitration-related matters are subject to the Federal Arbitration Act.

For a prospective franchisee, this means that if a dispute arises that requires a face-to-face meeting or arbitration, they will likely need to travel to Dollar Rent A Car's headquarters, which is currently located in Estero, Florida. This could involve significant travel expenses and time away from their Dollar Rent A Car franchise location. Franchisees should factor these potential costs into their financial planning and be aware of the commitment required to resolve disputes under the terms of the franchise agreement.
