How will Dollar Rent A Car designate approved suppliers for particular items?

According to Dollar Rent A Car's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company will designate approved suppliers for particular items through updates to the Operations Guide or in writing. For example, franchisees must purchase the hard copy form of Dollar System Standard Rental Agreements from approved suppliers that meet the company's specifications. Franchisees must also acquire software for their computer system from an approved supplier as prescribed in the Operations Guide or in writing.

To become an approved supplier, a supplier must demonstrate the ability to meet Dollar Rent A Car's standards and specifications for the items, possess adequate quality controls, and have the capacity to supply franchisee needs promptly, economically, and reliably. Dollar Rent A Car reserves the right to designate a single supplier, which may be themselves or their affiliates, and require franchisees to purchase exclusively from that supplier for any required purchases.

If a franchisee desires to purchase or lease from an unapproved supplier, they must submit a written request for approval to Dollar Rent A Car, along with any required information and samples. Dollar Rent A Car may require inspections of the supplier's facilities and testing of samples, with the franchisee bearing the costs of inspection and testing. The company will advise the franchisee in writing of the approval or disapproval within ninety (90) days of the request and completion of the evaluation and testing. Dollar Rent A Car may deny approval for any reason, including limiting the number of approved suppliers, and may revoke approval of particular items or suppliers, requiring franchisees to cease purchasing from them within thirty (30) days.
