The System is identified by certain trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, emblems and other commercial symbols, including, but not limited to, the marks "Dollar" "Dollar Rent A Car" as are now designated for use with the System and may, in the future, be designated by us in the Operations Guide (the "Marks"). We have proprietary rights to a number of trademarks used in this Disclosure Document. We have included the "®" symbol for some trademarks named in this Disclosure Document, and the lack of any such reference should not be construed as any indicator that we do not own, and will not assert our rights to, these marks to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Our Operations Guide contains each published document or collection of documents, whether provided electronically or in hard copy, made available to the Franchisee by us and contains the guidelines for the use of the Marks in Your Franchised Business, as supplemented and revised by us from time to time.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Dollar Rent A Car Franchise Disclosure Document, the "Marks" encompass the trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, emblems, and other commercial symbols that identify the Dollar Rent A Car system. These marks include, but are not limited to, "Dollar" and "Dollar Rent A Car." Dollar Rent A Car retains proprietary rights to these trademarks, and while some marks are designated with the "®" symbol, the absence of this symbol does not indicate a waiver of their rights.
The Operations Guide, which is provided to franchisees either electronically or in hard copy, contains guidelines for the proper use of these Marks in the franchisee's business. Dollar Rent A Car may supplement and revise these guidelines periodically. This means franchisees must adhere to the standards set by Dollar Rent A Car when using the brand's name, logo, and other identifying symbols in their daily operations, advertising, and overall business presentation.
For a prospective Dollar Rent A Car franchisee, understanding and correctly using the Marks is crucial for maintaining brand consistency and leveraging the established brand recognition. Failure to comply with the franchisor's guidelines regarding the use of the Marks could result in a breach of the franchise agreement and potential legal consequences. Therefore, franchisees must stay updated with any changes or revisions to the Operations Guide to ensure compliance.
