What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dollar Rent A Car's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, new franchisees are not currently being charged any Program Assessments. However, Dollar Rent A Car retains the right to implement these assessments in the future. These assessments would be related to various programs that Dollar Rent A Car may institute, modify, or replace, with notification provided in the Operations Guide or in writing.
The types of programs that could trigger a Program Assessment include advertising, sales promotion, marketing, reservations, centralized billing, charge cards, travel industry commissions or tour arrangements, operating programs, customer satisfaction programs, account programs, coupon programs, and experimental or test programs. The expenses incurred by a franchisee for these programs will be on the same basis as other Dollar Rent A Car franchisees if participation is required of all franchisees.
While the FDD indicates that Program Assessments are not currently being charged, prospective franchisees should be aware that this could change. It is important to factor in the potential for these assessments when evaluating the financial feasibility of a Dollar Rent A Car franchise. Franchisees should regularly consult the Operations Guide and any written notices from Dollar Rent A Car to stay informed about any changes to fees and assessments.
