The following counter automation software systems are currently the only software approved for use as part of your Approved Counter System:
- (i) Cars Thermeon Corporate Services, Santa Ana, California;
- (ii) Bluebird Auto Rental Systems, Dover, New Jersey;
- (iii) The System Distributors, Inc., North Andover, Massachusetts;
- (iv) Fourth Tier Solutions, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom;
- (v) Karz Systems, Inc., Evans, CA; and
- (vi) Capture (Overland West, Inc.), Ogden, Utah.
We reserve the right to change the counter automation software systems, in which case you must, at your expense, purchase new software licenses.

According to the 2025 Dollar Rent A Car Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase and utilize a counter automation system for their franchised business. Dollar Rent A Car uses these systems to transmit reservation information and collect data on closed rental agreements.

These include Cars Thermeon Corporate Services in Santa Ana, California; Bluebird Auto Rental Systems in Dover, New Jersey; The System Distributors, Inc. in North Andover, Massachusetts; Fourth Tier Solutions in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom; Karz Systems, Inc. in Evans, CA; and Capture (Overland West, Inc.) in Ogden, Utah.
Dollar Rent A Car retains the right to change the approved software systems, requiring franchisees to purchase new software licenses at their own expense if such changes occur. Franchisees are also responsible for any fees or expenses associated with third-party software agreements and must comply with the terms of those agreements.
