What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Dickeys Barbecue Pit Franchise Disclosure Document, the Mobile Unit Rider is an agreement between Dickeys Barbecue Pit and the franchisee that allows the franchisee to operate their franchised business using a mobile vehicle within a specific geographic area. This rider is attached to and becomes part of the Franchise Agreement, indicating that the franchisee desires the right to operate a mobile unit, and Dickeys Barbecue Pit is willing to grant this right through the rider.

The Mobile Unit Rider stipulates that the franchisee must operate the business from a specially designed motor vehicle equipped with both kitchen and serving facilities, referred to as the "Mobile Unit." This operation is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the rider, as well as all terms and conditions contained in the overarching Franchise Agreement. The rider also requires the franchisee to identify the vehicle identification number of the Mobile Unit.

The agreement emphasizes that the provisions of the Mobile Unit Rider are in addition to the terms and conditions of the Franchise Agreement, unless explicitly stated otherwise within the rider. This means that franchisees operating a Mobile Unit must adhere to both the standard franchise terms and the specific requirements detailed in the rider. Dickeys Barbecue Pit retains the option to purchase the Mobile Unit's assets, including equipment, signs, and furniture, should the Franchise Agreement be terminated.
